I was doing some forum trolling when I came across this. It seems that the 7th gear and cylinder deactivation is really good for fuel economy.

Damn. . . gets better mileage than me(about 23 to 24). Then again, I don't exactly drive with fuel consumption in mind.

I still want an analog dash, though (As long as I don't have to fix a dead pixel). WHY AREN'T YOU LISTENING, CHEVY?!

Correct, it is a C7.

I know how you feel. I do like that digital dashboards are customizable. But the analogue ones still look better.

I like Ferrari's compromise:

Kinja'd!!!

At least the rev counter is analogue.

One pic does not tell a story. I could take a picture of my car showing 99.9 mpg average

It does tell a story. Over 26.3 miles at an average of 70 mph that car averaged 40 MPG. That's impressive. Sure, it could have been all downhill. But for over 20 miles with a 70 average?

It might be possible to reset the average without resetting the trip. I can, and that's how I can display almost any MPG I want for whatever distance I want.

I'm not saying that's necessarily the case, but I'd like to see more measurements, and for much further distance. Show me 500 miles over various terrain.

I understand where you're coming from, I just posted an impressive picture of the 460 hp sports car getting 40 mpg while averaging a good speed for a long distance. I believe it is possible, even if the electronic gauge is optimistic. The C6 was known to get 30 mpg highway, and the C7 has an extra gear and shuts half of its cylinders off so I believe it is possible that's a realistic figure.

If I had a C7 it would never get that number unless there was a cop behind me, but it's nice to know it can. Just to piss off the pushrod haters.

I believe it's possible to get good numbers, even if 40 seems a bit high. I was just providing the voice of doubt, someone had to haha
